Cole Sprouse se vio envuelto en una pequeña pelea en Los Ángeles el jueves cuando intervino para ayudar a su amigo. El actor de Riverdale fue visto intentando aliviar la tensión cuando dos hombres se peleaban en la calle fuera de un restaurante.

En el video obtenido por TMZ, se puede ver a Cole involucrándose después de que su amigo llamara a un hombre en la calle por hacer aparentemente un comentario racista. El amigo de Cole grita "eres un racista" mientras Cole intenta calmar a todos.

Más tarde, una mujer rubia se involucra, diciéndole al grupo de hombres que "tienen que irse". Ahí es cuando las cosas se salen de control. Un hombre con una chaqueta azul parece empezar a empujar a Cole. En ese momento, alguien interviene y le da un puñetazo en la cara al hombre de la chaqueta azul. Todos se reúnen en una multitud mientras el caos continúa, Cole incluido.

Este incidente se produce un mes después de que el actor de 27 años revelara que fue arrestado mientras protestaba pacíficamente por el movimiento Black Lives Matter en Los Ángeles.

A group of peaceful protesters, myself included, were arrested yesterday in Santa Monica. So before the voracious horde of media sensationalism decides to somehow turn it about me, there’s a clear need to speak about the circumstances: Black Lives Matter. Peace, riots, looting, are an absolutely legitimate form of protest. the media is by nature only going to show the most sensational, which only proves a long standing racist agenda. I was detained when standing in solidarity, as were many of the final vanguard within Santa Monica. We were given the option to leave, and were informed that if we did not retreat, we would be arrested. When many did turn to leave, we found another line of police officers blocking our route, at which point, they started zip tying us. It needs to be stated that as a straight white man, and a public figure, the institutional consequences of my detainment are nothing in comparison to others within the movement. This is ABSOLUTELY not a narrative about me, and I hope the media doesn’t make it such. This is, and will be, a time about standing ground near others as a situation escalates, providing educated support, demonstrating and doing the right thing. This is precisely the time to contemplate what it means to stand as an ally. I hope others in my position do as well. I noticed that there are cameras that roll within the police cruisers during the entirety of our detainment, hope it helps. I’ll speak no more on the subject, as I’m (1) not well versed enough to do so, (2) not the subject of the movement, and (3) uninterested in drawing attention away from the leaders of the #BLM movement. "Se nos dio la opción de marcharnos, y se nos informó que si no nos retirábamos, seríamos arrestados", escribió Cole en un post de Instagram. "Cuando muchos se dieron la vuelta para irse, encontramos otra fila de policías bloqueando nuestra ruta, en cuyo momento, empezaron a atarnos."

Cole dijo entonces que su declaración sería la última vez que hablaría sobre el asunto. "No estoy (1) lo suficientemente versado para hacerlo, (2) no soy el sujeto del movimiento, y (3) no estoy interesado en desviar la atención de los líderes del movimiento #BLM".
